ToneHarbor Privacy Policy

ToneHarbor is an Android app for discovering, previewing, downloading, and setting ringtones, notification sounds, and alarm sounds. No account is required. This policy explains how the app handles local files and how Firebase services process analytics and crash-diagnostic data.

1. Information handled by the app

ToneHarbor handles the following information to provide its features:

• Local app data: downloaded sound records, save locations, playback state, system-sound assignment history, preferences, and license or attribution snapshots.
• Audio files and system settings: when you download or set a sound, the app writes the selected audio file to device storage and may update the Android ringtone, notification, or alarm setting after you grant the required permission.
• Network requests: the app requests sound catalogs and audio files from content servers and Firebase Storage. Those services may receive standard connection information such as IP address, request time, app identifier, and SDK version.

Local app data is kept on your device and is not uploaded to create a ToneHarbor account. ToneHarbor does not require or intentionally collect contacts, precise location, microphone recordings, phone numbers, or user-uploaded music.

2. Firebase Analytics

ToneHarbor uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used and to improve navigation, reliability, and features. Firebase may automatically process app interactions and session information, app version, device and operating-system information, general language or region information, and identifiers associated with an app installation. Depending on the device and Firebase configuration, advertising identifiers may also be processed by Google Analytics.

We use this information for aggregated usage measurement and product improvement, not to provide personalized advertising.

3. Firebase Crashlytics

ToneHarbor uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes, application-not-responding events, and other stability problems. Crashlytics may automatically collect crash stack traces, relevant application state, timestamps, app version, device model, operating-system information, memory or storage state, installation and session identifiers, and Analytics breadcrumb events immediately preceding a crash.

We do not intentionally attach your name, email address, phone number, downloaded audio contents, or other direct account identifiers to Crashlytics reports.

4. How information is used

• Provide previews, downloads, offline playback, and system-sound assignment.
• Measure app usage and understand which features need improvement.
• Diagnose crashes, application-not-responding events, and technical failures.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

5. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only as needed with service providers that operate app infrastructure, including Google Firebase for Analytics, Crashlytics, installations, and Cloud Storage, and with catalog or audio hosting providers when your device requests content. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users, rights, or security.

6. Retention

• Local records remain on your device until you remove them, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Audio files saved in shared device storage may remain until you delete them.
• Firebase Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings configured for the associated Analytics property.
• Firebase states that Crashlytics generally keeps crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems.
• Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained when it no longer reasonably identifies an app installation.

7. Your choices

You can deny optional Android permissions, remove downloaded sounds, clear the app's storage, or uninstall ToneHarbor. Denying system-settings access prevents the app from setting ringtones, notifications, or alarms but does not prevent basic browsing. You may also use Android and Google account controls to manage advertising identifiers and applicable Analytics settings.

Because ToneHarbor does not use user accounts, we may not be able to associate an email request with a specific anonymous installation. You may still contact us about applicable privacy rights or data questions using the address below.

8. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no transmission or storage method is completely secure. Firebase and other service providers may process information on servers in countries other than your own, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, service providers, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will show a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the store listing, the app, or another appropriate channel when required.
