Privacy Policy for ToneFlux
This Privacy Policy explains how ToneFlux (package name com.herman.toneflux) handles information when you use the Android app.
1. Information We Process
The app is designed to work mainly with local audio files and recordings on your device.
- Local audio metadata: song title, album, artist, duration, artwork reference, and file URI needed to list, search, play, edit, and export local audio.
- Imported folder access: if you choose an extra folder, the app stores the folder URI permission locally so it can show playable audio from that folder.
- Recordings: if you use the recording tool, microphone audio is recorded as an audio file on your device and saved to your Music library when you choose to save it.
- App settings and project data: playback settings such as tempo, pitch, loop markers, DSP settings, saved projects, custom playlists, hidden tracks, and practice history stored locally on your device.
- Analytics data: the app includes Firebase Analytics, which may process app usage, app interactions, device/app information, and app instance identifiers to help improve reliability and features.
- Crash and diagnostic data: the app includes Firebase Crashlytics, which may process crash reports, ANR reports, stack traces, app/device information, and related diagnostic events to help identify and fix stability issues.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
- No account registration is required.
- We do not upload your local music files or microphone recordings to a ToneFlux server.
- We do not collect your contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar, financial information, or precise location.
- We do not sell your personal data.
3. Permissions We Request
- READ_MEDIA_AUDIO (Android 13+), or legacy storage read permission on older Android versions: used only to browse and play local audio files.
- RECORD_AUDIO: used only when you start the recording tool to capture microphone audio and save it as a local audio file.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): used to show playback notifications and media controls.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK / WAKE_LOCK: used for stable background audio playback.
4. How Data Is Used
- To provide core features such as local audio playback, speed/pitch control, loops, markers, recording, export, and project restore.
- To maintain app functionality, remember local preferences, and improve reliability.
- To analyze general product usage trends (via analytics) and improve user experience.
- To diagnose crashes, ANRs, and stability issues (via crash reporting).
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your local audio files or recordings with third parties unless you choose to export or share them from your device. Analytics and crash reporting data may be processed by Google Firebase as a service provider according to Google's policies and the Firebase settings used by this app.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local settings, imported folder references, playback history, custom playlists, and project data remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Exported audio and saved recordings are stored in your device's Music library and can be deleted from your device by you.
- Analytics, crash, and diagnostic data retention is managed by Firebase/Google according to their platform rules.
7. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to address the issue.
8. Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect information processed by the app. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
